    Frizzy Brittle pool hair is Gone!Going to aqua exercise 3days a week has left my hair a brittle, frizzy mess. Pool chlorine was killing my hair! My hair dresser suggested using a conditioner before going into the pool, so I used my regular conditioner, and it helped a little, but my hair still was frizzy after several months of doing this. I did a little search on Amazon and found this product. I put it in my hair before going in the pool. If I have time I wet my hair first, then add the Aqua Guard, but if I'm late I just use a little extra on my hair without water. It's been great. My hair is now back to its normal bounce and texture. No more brittle feel and friz!!5AMAZINGMy hair's done a 180! It was becoming sooo damaged after the pool, it felt like straw. I thankfully didn't have the green color effect, but I needed something to prevent the amount of damage I was getting. Aqua Guard is a godsend, it feels like a conditioner that you put in your hair. I do have a swim cap, but since this is a silicone based gel, it just slides off. For the ladies and men with longer hair, I recommend braiding it first, wetting it and slathering this on, that way you can always bun it and keep it closer to your scalp because I have yet to come across a swim cap that won't slide off with this stuff on. My hair has life again! If you really want to get rid of the chlorine I recommend combing this with the Tri-Swim conditioner, shampoo, body wash and lotion combo. They sell a trial size sampler here on amazon if you really want to fight chlorine damage.5Finally something that works!This product is just one from an arsenal I have tried on my daughter's naturally spiral curled hair, in an effort to protect her hair from pool chlorine. Aqua Guard is the first product to really deliver. We still use a shampoo and conditioner that help to remove chlorine, but they are much more effective when used together with this product. It is really great for curly hair, which is particularly vulnerable to the drying effects of pool chlorine. I dampen my daughter's hair and use a wide-toothed to ensure it is evenly distributed. It makes a BIG difference in her hair after a day in the pool.5works pretty wellWhen applied to hair before swimming, and assuming a shower right after getting out of the pool, this product genuinely cuts down on both the chlorine smell and the dry texture that hair often gets after swimming, as compared with taking a shower but not using the product before hand.I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 for a few reasons. First, I found that it takes a LOT of product to really coat hair before swimming. (I do have long hair, but even so, I was surprised by how much it soaked up.) Second, while it smells just fine, a sort of normal shampoo or hair care kind of smell, I didn't love what it smelled like. Third, while it seriously reduces the effects of chlorine, I didn't find that it totally eliminated them.Nonetheless, it does work. It's a good product if that's what you're looking for.4Works well when used correctly!I am a hairstylist who swims laps five days a week for an hour at a time. Unfortunately my fine, color treated hair was becoming completely trashed from the chlorine and I had to have a major haircut. After that I decided to invest in a good swim cap as well as give this product a try. It seems to work really well for me. I wet my hair down first and towel dry it, apply the product, put the swim cap on and let it absorb in for five minutes before I submerge my head in the chlorinated water. The directions say you can put it on dry hair as well but as a professional stylist I would never recommend that. Always wet your hair before you get into the pool, whether or not you have any product in to help protect it.Because of the headphones I wear with the swim cap some of the chlorine still leaks through into the cap. With this product in my hair it has been two months and there s not a bit of chlorine damage. If you re not sure about purchasing the product, call the company and they will send you a complementary sample size tube to try. Great company to deal with! I would definitely recommend this product if you re having problems with your hair in chlorinated pools. I would also recommend purchasing directly from the company if you decide you want to keep using it. It may take a few days longer to get here than using prime membership but it s $1 cheaper per tube.5As a constant swimmer, this does NOT work for me at all!I go swimming in my college pool four to five times a week and my hair was getting all gross so I was really hopeful that this would work. However, it did not. Even after I got a haircut and now my hair is really short it still doesn t work. I apply a lot of it just like everybody says you need to and no matter how much I put it in it doesn t work. If you are an avid swimmer stay away!It s also expensive and if it s not working properly then it s not worth paying the price! I d give this product zero stars if I could.UPDATE: The company offered me a partial refund of $8 so I upped the review to 3 stars for their customer service.3Best product for your hair!Best product for people constantly in the pool. You put it on your dry hair, or wet hair and it doesn't let the chlorine latch on. I would never go swimming without it. For some understanding I am in the pool 3-5 times per week swimming laps, not to mention aqua fit classes. This product is a lifesaver!5Keeps gold from turning to straw!I'm a believer. My daughters have thick, curly hair that takes about 10 minutes to condition and wet-comb daily. Chlorine is kryptonite; their hair becomes frizzy polyester if they swim, rinse, and air dry. This AquaGuard Pre-Swim conditioner is amazing. We work it into wet hair, put the hair in a braid or ponytail, and swim. After swimming, the kids rinse off and comb their hair again. The next morning is the test--no polyester! In fact, the hair looks, smells and behaves as if it had been freshly washed and conditioned before bed. So very worth it!!!5I had high hopes for this product because I spend ...I had high hopes for this product because I spend 5-6 hours a week in the pool and my colour-treated hair fades very badly between trips to the salon. I started using the product almost immediately after my last colour treatment. It's been about 5 weeks since I started using it and I only see a marginal difference (any?) in terms of fading. I'll ask my stylist for her opinion when I see her next week. Many people have complained about the smell (fake cherries). I don't find it that off-putting.
