    This was not a love connection for me This review is for Burt s Bees BB cream. This was not a love connection for me. I was expecting sort of a mildly tinted lotion with maybe a little coverage. This is tinted, but they may as well call it full coverage, super thick foundation. I put a pea sized amount on my finger and swiped it across my cheek. It ran out before I made the full sweep because it is thick and chalky. I will try it again after having just applied facial lotion. I wanted to love it because BB tries to keep the bad stuff out of their products and I like to support that.Did you find this review helpful? 2Be careful with the color selectionThe coverage and product itself is nice. I normally wear light porcelain shades and thought the light version of this would be ok. Nope. It was a super light shade of some odd Greyish white color. It does cover flaws well, so as long as I top it off with bronzer and blush it doesn't look bad. And it has enough moisturizer to make my skin look Dewey and healthy. But I am definitely going for the darker shade next time so I can wear it alone without looking like a zombie.4"Secretly" the BEST BB CREAM Ever! I can no longer find this stuff near me. It makes for a great primer or can be worn alone for light coverage - although it's a bit heavier than most BB creams which is what I like about it so much!It smells great, holds any other makeup applications, and LASTS! I love to top it off with a luminescent finishing powder when wearing it alone. I've had quite a few people ask what foundation I use since they can't tell I'm even wearing it! When I worked for a VERY, VERY well known Beauty Retailer whose colors were black, white, and red, I had so many women want my foundation look - dewy and youthful without looking oily. I'd have to secretly write it down! However, many of the other products that I wore were considered "Prestige Brands"; so, I sold plenty of products!One thing I love to do with this BB is to squeeze about 1/2 a dime's size onto the back of my hand, do one pump of the silicone based primer by Sephora or MAKEUPFOREVER, and a small amount of Clinique's pore minimizer and, then, blend together with a foundation brush and apply.VOILA! A beautiful hybrid foundation! Just add your favorite finishing powder and spray and you're good to go! 5Stinky. This stuff smells so bad I can't even tell you how it looked or felt on my skin. I started to apply it and washed it off right away. Smells like something left in my fridge for too long. 1Champion of the No Makeup, Makeup Look Let me state that I spent HOURS reviewing different BB creams, tinted moisturizers, etc., before settling on Burts Bees BB cream. The ingredients, affordability, and positive user reviews on amazon clinched the purchase for me. My goals for a BB cream were to simplify my morning "made up" routine. I have combination skin that is very sensitive and I needed something that could cover fine imperfections and redness, and overall even out my skin. Foundations make me look super washed out and I don't have time for all the layering that goes with concealers, foundations, bronzers, highlighters, blushes, and so on. Phew. I did take to heart the reviews that stated to go a shade darker than normal- I'm usually a light/medium and I went with the medium- and I'm very happy I did. I first dabbed a little onto the back of my hand and I was worried because it looked a lot darker than I was expecting and seemed to be quite oily...until I put it on my face. Hello even skin tone without completely taking away my healthy color. Goodbye redness. It ended up applying to my skin much lighter and more natural to my skin tone. What I thought was oiliness ended up absorbing nicely into my skin leaving me with a nice natural finish. I did notice that a little seems to go a long way- areas where I repeated coverage (on accident, I'm applying with my hands and am not a makeup guru) seemed to have more coverage than where I had applied a single layer. I applied this on a down day without showering and my normally rebellious skin is very happy. I combined this with the Burts bees mascara and have achieved the "highlighting my natural beauty without looking too done up" goal. 5Nice BB creamI was so excited to find that Burt's Bees now makes makeup! I have struggled to find a makeup that I can stand the feeling of, and this is it! Most feel heavy on my face, but I don't feel this at all. I was afraid the light would be too light for me, but it is ok. I am pretty pale though. If my skin were any darker it would be too light for me. I did buy one of the powders to brush over this cream to darken it just a smidge.Others have mentioned a smell. It does hav a very low odor when I am applying, but once it dries, I don't smell it anymore. It doesn't bother me at all.I'm a bit afraid that something in it irritates my eyes, hence the removal of a star. I thought it was the mascara, but I wore just the mascara today, and I'm fine. When I wear the BB cream, at the end of the day my eyes burn a bit. It's not enough for me to stop using it and washing it off instantly solves the problem.4Not sure I don't consider this a sheer coverage light moisturizer. Wow, this is full coverage! I got the Lt/Med. I think I will need regular moisturizer underneath this, but I'll get back to ya on that. I have dry skin and it seems ok.Update: I have decided-- I don't know whether I like this or not. Heh. I have never had such a hard time reviewing anything! This is full coverage and a little goes a long way or I look like those women with too much foundation on. I tried mixing it with moisturizer, but then it caked. I also noticed that I sweat with this on. Considering returning it, but I guess I'll try it again with moisturizer and not so much of it. 3Love love love! Shake shake shake! So I do not write reviews, but I was reading some of these and had to answer the question on how to mix this BB cream. Shake it...up and down, side to side. It s incredably easy and will go on so smooth! If your bb cream is drying too fast just use a little more. It doesn t get caked and will blend fine. I usually put a light setting powder or mineral powder on after. I have dry sensitive skin and this stuff gives you a light dewy feel. I love it!Hope that helped..Cheers! 5So many reasons to love this BB cream1. The scent is lovely, like oranges and chocolate. I've purchased 3 tubes of this item over the past year and never noticed a hint of bad odor--and I'm like a bloodhound with bad odors.2. The coverage is great for every day wear, and it doesn't get oily or streaky throughout the day, even in hot weather.3. The color is neither pink nor orange, which is great. I think reviewers who say it looks ashy might be accustomed to more pink/orange hued face creams and foundations. My natural complexion is usually the lightest neutral shade in most cosmetic lines, maybe one shade deeper in the summer, but I'm a 42-year-old sunscreen freak now (if only I had listened to the experts in my twenties!)4. I can't stand full coverage foundation and chemical-based sunscreens give me a horrible rash on my face, so this BB cream with mineral-based sunscreen was exactly what I needed.Applying this product is my favorite step in my beauty routine.5Pale girls listen up A lot of people comparing the light is grayishIt kind of is but after about a minute sinks into your skin and looks like you re not wearing makeupThis will cover sight redness and large pores and gives a nice inner glow lookDoesn t look greasyDoesn t feel heavilyI love it 5Great for dry complexion, terrible for oily skin Let s start with I love Burt s Bees products generally, but not in love with this product personally and here s why: the shade is really really light which is not a big deal, I could switch to light/medium and easily resolve this... however if you have an oily complexion like I do you may share my experience.The product glides on smoothly, smells great and provides a light hint of color to even our imperfections; all good so far... however it felt cacky and greasy to me :( and a few hours later my skin looked really shiny and oily. Now if you have a dry complexion this product might work great for you... but if you re oily like me not your best friend.This is unfortunate because the price is great but I go back on my search for a tinted moisturizer that is natural, good for oily skin, at a decent price that doesn t make me look shiny :s 2Light and mousse-like, evens skin tone I have been using drugstore BB Cream for over 4 years now. I ve used L Or al and Physicians Formula brands in the past and am very happy with my jump to this product.I have combination skin, and I use BB Cream because I like light coverage to even out my skin tone without making me feel greasy or weighed down. The sunscreen is also a perk!How I use it: I use this product in conjunction with a moisturizer and eye cream. Then I use concealer for under my eyes and on anything else I want to cover up that day.Why I like it:- Texture: Compared to products I ve used in the past, Burt s Bees BB Cream is so light! I have read other review that say it s heavy, but that is definitely not my experience. I like the mousse-like feel.- Coverage: Enough to even out my skin tone, but not enough to my make freckles disappear (I like my freckles!). See picture.- Bottle: Only squirts out a little at a time. I don t feel like a waste any.Things to think about:- Smell: Citrusy. I like it, but it is noticeable. If you think that may be a problem, this might not be the product for you.- Color: I took the recommendation of other reviewers and went for a shade darker than I would normally get (light/medium instead of light). Good call, other reviewers, good call! 5Before & afterI am 36 and fairly new to wearing any makeup beyond mascara and lip balm.This pic is taken after a loooong night with my toddler and looking out my window for natural light.So, it is very light coverage as you can see. Not too tacky, and it lasted through a nap. Smells nice and I was able to apply by patting small dots of product on my ring finger and gently kinda rub it under and around my eyes.The color: light/medium.I have warm peachy skin, a bit on the dry side.I will be buying again.5I ve used it for years and love it! I ve been using this for a few years. It has a fabulous texture, goes on evenly, and has a nice matte finish. I like how much coverage it gives for a B.B. I ve tried many others that are just a tinted lotion, which isn t what I m looking for. It can easily be worn alone and make you look fresh and rested. It doesn t clog pores and is made with nice ingredients but. SPF 15 is pretty good (but you should really wear SPF 30), so I wear a higher SPF in my powder foundation. I have fair skin with yellow and undertones, so I wear light-medium. I tried the light shade, but is too light; it is for very fair ivory/pink-toned skin, otherwise it looks chalky.
