Customer Reviews

CAUTION Very fine powder. Filled to the brim.CAUTION: Diy suncreen recipes are not a replacement for conventional sunscreen, they are merely a compliment. I m using this for some diy projects but I will still use conventional suncreen underneath. Diy sunscreens cannot provide the same sun protection as CSS. Special additives and formulations are needed to create even and consistent layers of sun protection on the skin. Diy sunscreens will bunch up on the skin and give uneven and inconsistent protection. If anything use this as a last step to your sunscreen routine to set and mattify. 5Though I tan quite easily, I was getting quite dark and realized the ...I live in a retirement community and I spend 2 hours, five days a week, exercising in the pool and socializing with friends. Though I tan quite easily, I was getting quite dark and realized the need to use sun screen. I purchased Zinc Oxide Powder in order to make my own sun screen, as I don't like all the chemicals found in regular sun screen. It mixed up nicely with coconut oil and I've been using it for several weeks. Works great!I would like to say how much I appreciate your customer service, in your attention to follow-ups and offering coupons. Great job, thanks!4I m not going to give it a poor rating because it may work well for others who ... I purchased this to use on my face as a masque. I have delicate skin and it felt uncomfortable and burned some. I was wondering if it has some salt in it? I m not going to give it a poor rating because it may work well for others who have skin less sensitive. As for the smell, I liked the smell because it smells like the ocean after it rains... the smell of seaweed ;-). 4Non Nano Zinc Oxide Powder Non Nano Zinc Oxide Powder Is good for turning my favorite lotions and creams into sunscreen products. The zinc oxide came with a recipe book and caution about inhaling the product. I was going to add this product to my loose face and body powders, but decided against it because of this caution. I'm happy that I can purchase moisturizers and lotions without sunscreen protection. Simply put some moisturizer or lotion into a smaller container to mix with zinc oxide for daytime sun protection. The rest of the product, without zinc oxide, can then be used at night. Nice! 5A GREAT VALUE! I have a major sensitivity to ultraviolet light and wear sunbloc 365 days a year. Plus I have skin that's very sensitive to botanicals and perfumes. Over the years I've found that the powdered sunbloc made by Colorscience has been the best for me. I apply it over my moisturizer (which has an SPF of 30) and I'm good to go for the day. But I decided to try adding a little more zinc oxide powder to the Colorscience to further increase its SPF. The Natural Escentials zinc oxide powder is excellent, and the value cannot be beat. The jar is huge and will last a lifetime, seriously. It also comes with recipes for making your own sunbloc, by adding it to lotions. Zinc is good for the skin, helping with healing, so on every front, this powder is a winner. Even if you don't use Colorscience sunbloc, you could add some of this zinc oxide powder to your regular face powder (mix well, using a mortar and pestle) and create added sunprotection to use over whatever liquid sunbloc you are using. 5Daily favorite! I bought this in May 2016 and am only now buying a second tub! I mix a tiny bit with argan oil and cover my face with it every morning, then my face is a little white and I put a tinted cream over it and my face looks FLAWLESS and that sun does not get to it. I also (just started this a few months ago) mix it with coconut oil for my kids bodies can 100% safe sunscreen get any cheaper than this? 5Best from the Rest! Love how my skin feels after using the seaweed powder mixed with vinegar. I use it as a body scrub once a week and I leave it on for 15 to 25 minutes. After I rinse it off and my skin is super super soft, clean, and makes it alot easier to shave my legs too. I noticed an improvement in skin tone and my skin allergies I am not suffering from them as before. When I use it for facial masks I mix it with clay so it sticks better and it really sucks up the excessive oil in my face. I truly love this product and I would never again use any other kind of facial masks or body scrubs but this one. 5Just wow Just wow. I've never had a mask that leaves my skin so soft, and I've used a lot of different face masks in the past. I mix mine with honey, a little bit of ACV and pure aloe vera gel. Mostly honey though, for the consistancy. I do it at night usually. When I wake up in the morning, my skin still feels just as soft. I will definatly purchase this again. I can also tell that some of my dark spots are fading, which is huge plus. I also use tumeric, vitamic c serum, and essential oils, so I'm sure all of these things play a role in that. This mask alone though, definatly helps with the texture of my skin. It's also a great scub for the shower. Strongly recommend for anyone who wants a cheap, but great product. 5and I love it! The zinc doesn't irritate my skin like ...I recently used the zinc oxide and the Indian healing clay in a batch of homemade deodorant, and I love it! The zinc doesn't irritate my skin like baking soda does, and I have noticed less body odor. My recipe is as follows:4 T Virgin Coconut Oil4 T Unrefined Shea Butter3 T Arrowroot Powder2 T Natural eSCENTials Indian Healing Clay2T Natural eSCENTials Non-nano Zinc Oxide powder1 tsp. Olive Oil (optional)8 drops Gernaium EO8 drops Bergamot EO7 drops Lavender EO5 drops Tea Tree EO (optional)Melt the coconut oil and shea butter in a double boiler over barely simmering water. Once melted, remove oil/butter mixture from heat and allow to cool slightly. Add the powders and mix thoroughly (I used a stick blender). Stir in essential oils. Pour into a sterile jar (I used a 4-oz. amber jar), and allow to set up.I can't wait to make more skin care products with it. Thank you for making such an awesome product! I will definitely buy from you again.Indian Healing Detox Clay Natural Calcium Bentonite Clay FREE Recipes Included - Fine Powder For Smooth Consistency - Refreshes and Revitalizes Your Skin - 1LB5A fantastic ingredient for homemade skin care products. You won't regret this purchase! Why does the type of zinc oxide matter?Non-nano and not micronized means that there are not nano-sized particles entering your body. The FDA does not currently regulate this in sunscreen products. Why should I make my own sunscreen?First, the overwhelming majority of sunscreens on the market today are horrific. These are some of the most common ingredients found in sunscreens today Oxybenzone Oxybenzone is a sunscreen ingredient associated with photoallergic reactions. This chemical absorbs through the skin in significant amounts. It contaminates the bodies of 97% of Americans according to research by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Octinoxate (Octylmethoxycinnamate) This common sunscreen ingredient is shown to have hormone-mimicking effects on laboratory animals. This chemical is found in humans, including mothers' milk samples. 4-MBC / 3-BC A UV filter not approved as an active ingredient for sunscreen in the U.S., but listed as an inactive ingredient in some products. European researchers cite concerns over thyroid toxicity, hormone disruption, and recommend the chemical not be used in sunscreen.Enter in the need for a DIY sunscreen. What About SPF?SPF protection does not increase proportionally to an increase in SPF. For example, an SPF of 2 absorbs 50% of UV rays, SPF 15 absorbs 93%, and an SPF of 34 absorbs 97% of UV rays. Here is a good guide if you wish to change up the level of protection (but remember, adding more or less zinc oxide will change the feel of the sunscreen, making it thicker or thinner) SPF 2-5: Use 5% zinc oxide SPF 6-11: Use 10% zinc oxide SPF 12-19: Use 15% zinc oxide SPF 20+: Use 20% zinc oxideWhat else is zinc oxide good for?11 Skin Conditions that Can Be Improved by Adding Zinc in Your Diet or Skin Care1. Sunburn and sun damage: Zinc oxide offers broad-spectrum protection against damaging UVA and UVB rays, and is approved by the FDA for infants under six months.2. Ulcers and wounds: Zinc has long been used topically to treat ulcers and other wounds. It has natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that help speed wound healing to help skin recover.3. Warts: Warts are actually the result of an infection. If you have them, you may want to try zinc supplementation for a week or so to see if it helps. Studies have shown that topical zinc, as well, was effective in treating viral warts in 80 percent of participants.4. Acne: Acne breakout? Reach for more shrimp (rich in zinc). A number of studies have shown that zinc both topically and when taken internally can help clear up acne. Other studies have found that patients with acne are more likely to have zinc deficiencies.5. Large pores: As well as all it s other talents, zinc is also a natural astringent. That means it tightens tissues and absorbs excess oil another reason zinc is so good as an anti-acne treatment. It helps tighten pores and prevent the buildup of sebum, reducing the formation of blackheads and pimples.6. Rosacea: Zinc is a natural anti-inflammatory, which means that it can help tame inflammation. Since rosacea is mostly an inflammatory disease, it makes sense that zinc might help reduce flare-ups. That s what scientists have found.7. Psoriasis: Similar to rosacea, psoriasis is also an inflammatory skin condition. Scientists tried treating it with creams that contained zinc, and found that it was effective. Taking zinc orally also helped improve symptoms of psoriatic arthritis.8. Eczema: Again, because of its anti-inflammatory properties as well as its ability to act as an antioxidant, zinc has been used to treat eczema. Topical applications were found to improve symptoms of eczema in study participants, easing severity and itching.9. Photo-Induced Aging: A 2009 study tested a cream that contained both zinc and copper on 21 women with photoaged skin. After 8 weeks, researchers saw a significant improvement in elastic fiber regeneration leading to a reduced appearance of wrinkles.10. Diaper rash: Check out your diaper rash cream. Does it have zinc oxide? If it does, it s because manufacturers know that it helps skin heal not only because of its wound healing and anti-inflammatory properties, but because it helps seal out wetness to keep skin dry.11. Dandruff: Dandruff can cause an itchy, irritated and flaking scalp. We ve known for years that zinc can help. Most dandruff shampoos available today contain zinc, because it s a proven treatment for the condition.[...] I always enjoy writing reviews on products. I make most of my daily purchases on Amazon and base my purchases on reviews from others. I know that honest and helpful reviews can make all the difference in a purchasing decision. . I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review, but provide truly honest reviews that reflect the item purchased, whether an item was free, discounted, or purchased at full price. 5Use as sunscreen powder Zinc oxide powder meet my expectations, I mixed them with some color powder & little bit of baby powder then apply to my face as sunscreen powder. 5Exactly as advertised I bought this to mix into my homemade wraps and skin treatments. I read many websites to figure out which brand to go with and I'm happy I went with this one. In combination with the other ingredients I have had great affects. I have very sensitive skin and easily break out in rashes from many products but not this one. I'll definitely be buying this brand when I need more in the future. 5
